Designer Mail Art Exchange - part 2

Early this week, the Mail Art that I stitched had finally reached the recipient, Aida.

Plum Berry Sampler by Bent Creek. Stitched on 18ct aida using DMC, lined with leaf print cotton. Handsewn all the way!
I actually had to re-route the MA b'coz the lady at the Post Office branch nearby didn't want to process it. Luckily, Margaret, a stitching friend offered a lending hand. She mailed it out on behalf of me from her place. Initially, it was kind of frustrating situation for me. Then thinking of such problem is one of common problems faced by mail artists (participants), one PO branch refused to process a mail art is not a big deal anymore.

Ironically, as per explanation in TheFreeDictionary.com Mail art is art which uses the postal system as a medium. Click HERE to read more on Mail Arts.

Beautiful piece of work! Cheeze. A common problem. Same here, had to go to 'a' certain PO to get my MA mailed. Our PO still ignorant of MA's existence?

Cheez,

I did not know that the MA was actually "mailed" twice... made it even more special.

Hugs,
Aida.

Lillie thanks. I wish more POs were aware of MA existence *wink*

Azie hey! you got to start stitching MAs after finishing your current project (focus project of the year). I really enjoy stitching the MA

Ann Lee & Brigitte Thank you & Happy Stitching to you too

Aida Glad that you like it. I was worry if it couldn't be mailed out as it supposed to be or worse it didn't reach you. Really happy to know that it had reached you finally

That is an interesting link on Mail Art, Zalita - thanks for including it here. My post office was in total rhapsodies over a stitched mail art envelope I received last year. They had never seen anything like it, and I don't think I would have any problem if I made one and took it there to post. I think they would treat it with great reverence!
